Abstract

Coagulation of nanoparticles plays a critical role in the growth of nanoparticles during precipitation in reverse micelles. Shukla et al.1 have proposed a population balance model incorporating the effect of coagulation of nanoparticles during precipitation of nanoparticles in gas-reverse micelle system. Experimental results of Kandori et al. and Dagaohkar et al. are explained using the model. The effect of continuous phase and water-to-surfactant molar ratio on the coagulation kinetics has been investigated based on the experimental observation of Dagaonkar et al.
